Chapter 1:

St. Clouds North

A blizzard had come in to Saint Clouds together with many boxes of broken toys and some with letters attached to them, more than any other Christmas. A little figurine of the Virgin Mary caught Chris’s eye. A note attached by a rubber band enveloped the small figurine. Its letter read “Dear Jesus Christ please come to Nottingham. Our town needs help!”

“What could be wrong?” asked Chris”

“There are more just like that,” said Eins “They came with the new dwarfs. We are collecting them all.”

“What Dwarfs? We were not expecting new dwarfs?,” commented Carpenter.

The Mail dwarfs collected all the messages in the boxes and calls for help while also organizing all the broken toys so they could be distributed and sent to the proper workshop. At the front gate of Saint Clouds, a bunch of Dwarfs stood waiting to be announced and let in.

Walking through wind and snow the guard came and spoke to Eins, “I have 24 dwarfs at the gate, the ones who brought the boxes, new arrivals who got kicked out of their cities. A new ordinance decreed that “No Dwarfs are allowed in the counties of Blabberville or in the northern territories.”

The dwarfs were in shock.

“That is not all,” continued guard, “Our December 24 day calendar has been banned!”

“They can’t do that, can’t do that” said Zwei two times.

“Thats our calendar,” added Tempus.”

“No one but dwarfs use the 24 day December calendar and so this has to be personal,” said Zwei assuredly.,

“Saint Clouds North has been using that calendar ever since the days of Sir Richard!” commented Umlando one of the Historian Dwarfs.”

“That is right,” added Scribe “The Sheriff of the Nottingham was the last to ban it.”

“What could have happened?, could have happened” asked Zwei two times.

“Mayor Frost, the Terrible, is a tyrant,”said Eins

“I know,” said Chris, But Mayor Frost is a Stonecutter, he would not allow such a ridiculous thing to occur. He would make the dwarfs secret slaves before letting them go.”

“Uhum,”said the guard interrupting. “I have new drwarfs waiting,”

“Announce them, announce them,” said Zwei two times.

“What are their names?” asked Chris.

And the guard looked at his clipboard and read their names.

“I have two lollypop makers, Bingel and Mingel from the Lollypop District. Then from the Holly city of Berber is Wreath, Garnish and Jesus….

“Cheeses” corrected the dwarf.

“Cheeses,” affirmed the Herald “they make wreaths, ornaments and food stuff. Two of them are “Recipe Dwarfs” who escaped being taken as slaves.

Then there are two woodchucks, Finkel and Ginkel from the Blabber Forest by Worstershire. After them are Hinkel, Inkel, Jinkel and Kingel. They don’t remember how they ended up in Blabber, but they think they are the descendants of ice fishers from the north. Then there are Linkel & Minkel from Wonkaville which they said closed down. They are twins and makers of silly things and trained by Willy Wonka himself may he rest in peace. They are inseparable.

Then from Gingerbread are Ninkel Prinkel Quinkel Wingmaker, Stinkel Tik, Vrinkel Winkel. Xinkel, Yinkel Zinlel. They are makers of Gingerbread Cookies thats all they make. They were also volunteers at the church who said the town’s mayor, the Chocolate meister, prohibited them from giving dwarfs refuge.”

“Bring them in” said Eins, “and make sure to feed and house their animals.”
